PKS & Company, P.A. proudly announces the retirement of Michael C. Kleger, CPA, marking the conclusion of an extraordinary 46-year career in public accounting and a legacy of dedicated service to clients, colleagues, and the broader community.

After gaining valuable experience with R.H. Ritchey & Company in Alexandria, VA and Snyder Newrath & Company in Bethesda, MD, Mike joined PKS & Company, P.A. in 1986. Named Partner in 1996, he has been instrumental in advancing the firm’s growth and strengthening its reputation for excellence throughout his long and accomplished tenure.

Throughout his career, Mike developed deep expertise in Government, Non-Profit, and Uniform Guidance Audits, as well as small business and individual tax services. His work was defined not only by technical excellence, but by his unwavering commitment to building meaningful, lasting relationships. Mike has served families and business owners across decades, often advising multiple generations with thoughtful guidance rooted in trust, integrity, and personal connection.

Known for his attention to detail, organization, and creative problem-solving, Mike became a trusted advisor to his clients and a valued leader within the firm. His colleagues widely recognize his ability to approach complex challenges with clarity, professionalism, and care.

Beyond his professional contributions, Mike has demonstrated a deep commitment to the local community. He has served in numerous leadership and board roles, including the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mike Chaired the Chamber Budget & Finance committee, served as the Treasurer, served on the Board of the Chamber Foundation and provided steadfast leadership, guidance and wisdom in his two decades of service to the Chamber.”

His involvement has helped strengthen organizations that support economic development, families, and the local community throughout the region.

Mike and his wife, Cindy, reside in Hebron, Maryland. In retirement, he looks forward to spending more time with his family and enjoying his favorite activities.
